Jennie Genes

Jennie Genes (previously Hallett) lived and worked in Beeston, Sandy before returning to Seaford, East Sussex in 2024. She studied Art in Brighton where she grew up. After an extended break from Art, Jen picked up her brushes again 6 years ago. Her career has included running an Art gallery and being a picture framer and, whilst she loved framing other artists work, she always longed to create art of her own.

In 2025 Jen attending ‘Brasspoint’ Art School, Newhaven under the tutorage of Michael Stones to explore different techniques and colour use.

Jen’s eye for composition is often remarked on, particularly in her photography, which she uses in the creation of her original artwork. Although not exhibited here, Jen paints on a wide variety of materials, including stone and wood and loves to experiment using collage and calligraphy. Her work in this exhibition has been created using acrylic paint and pen on paper and Canvas.
