Susan James-Dean

Elements of change and renewal are underlying themes within Su’s paintings and drawings of both the landscape and the human figure.

A graduate in Fine Art from St Albans College of Art and Design, Su has a long career within art education and continues to run drawing courses and workshops in both school and studio settings. She says,

“Both as an artist and teacher, I am passionate about the expressive power of drawing - a fundamental activity which underpins my own practice. I always have my sketchbook with me! The dynamic energy of the human figure and the ever-changing nature of the landscape are both particular sources of inspiration for me.”

Su exhibits her paintings and drawings regularly and also works to commission, creating bespoke paintings for specific spaces.
