Men in Sheds Bedford
Men in Sheds Bedford was formed in 2012 as a not-for-profit association with charitable purposes. In 2017, it became a registered charity with the Charity Commission (1174339). Currently it has nearly 100 members. The charity is an initiative that provides a space for people to socialise, learn new skills, share experiences, work on group projects, or their own projects, while also promoting mental well-being. It's a valuable way for individuals to connect and combat loneliness whilst engaging in meaningful activities. In the past we have done everything from putting up sheds, refurbishing a community centre, making boxes for dormice, to getting together for social events. For nearly three years we have been running a session based around watercolour painting, coloured pencils, and acrylics organised by Cllr Terri Conway. This has proven to be very popular with over a dozen members routinely attending every week.
