Louise Fattizzo

I am an abstract artist with a love for colour, texture and the process of creating. I studied Fine Art at Bedford College before graduating with First Class Honours from Cambridge School of Art.

My work is rooted in experimentation. I enjoy building my paintings through layers of different media and textures, often using tools that I have designed and made myself to create unique marks and surfaces. I work intuitively, allowing each piece to develop organically rather than beginning with a fixed idea of how it should look.

In recent years, my life has involved travelling back and forth between England and the United States as a military partner. Living between two countries has brought incredible experiences, but also periods of uncertainty, separation and constant change. I think those experiences have naturally found their way into my work, particularly through my interest in movement, transition and the idea of finding something beautiful within the unpredictable.

For me, abstract painting is as much about the process as the finished piece. I enjoy discovering what happens through layering, revealing and responding to the materials, creating work that leaves space for the viewer to find their own meaning and connection.
