Ané Human

I am 18 years old. I used lino printing as my chosen medium to produce all my pieces for this exhibition, as although I initially learnt the technique of lino printing at school, I have continued to develop my skills through independent practice. I love the bold contrast lino printed designs bring, and I also enjoyed experimenting with mixed media by using patterned paper to introduce colour into my black and white print.

For the works I have chosen for this exhibition, I was inspired by nature, but also the beauty and character of Bedford. I have particularly enjoyed making two pieces to celebrate Bedford, including ‘Bedford Rower’ featuring the River Great Ouse and the iconic Butterfly Bridge, as well as ‘Bedford Townscape’ to celebrate some of the unique (but often overlooked!) architecture Bedford has to offer.

This exhibition is particularly meaningful to me as it is the first time I am selling my work, and I am grateful for this opportunity to do so at Bedford MS Therapy Centre!
