Long-standing charity fundraiser, Jane Bowling, dies aged 101

Sad news this week that Jane Bowling passed away at the age of 101. Our thoughts are with her two daughters Francis and Marguerite.

Jane's daughter Marguerite was diagnosed with MS, and Jane wanted to help raise funds towards the MS Therapy Centre,  she had a real passion for clothes so she made use of this and began collecting pre-loved clothes.

She began by organising Fashion Shows at a local high school. The shows were a great deal of work, but a huge success.

when we opened the new Centre in 1996 we began hanging all the clothes, ready for another show, in an upstairs room - it looked like a shop - so it was decided to open it up as a Charity Shop and it became 'Jane's Bazaar '

Jane roped in the help of a friend and between them they raised thousands of pounds over the next 26 years - retiring at the age of 92, proving charity work really does prolong life!

Thanks Jane for all you did to raise so much money and help raise the profile of the MS Therapy Centre.
